Vintage 2015, day one

Great start of our own Barossa grape harvest, at Mill About Vineyard. Nice weather, 23 degrees, cool shade under the vines, efficient grape pickers. Starting with the Semillon, to be picked in stages over several days – as per our winemaker’s instructions!

2014 vintage at Mill About Vineyard is almost over!

It’s time to relax a bit, with the Semillon and Muscat harvested in Jan-Feb and the Grenache, Saperavi and Mataro picked last weekend. Wonderful to have Nelly’s mother helping this year!         Very good yield, great grape quality. On to Stan’s winemaking magic.

Grape harvest 2012: Done!

It’s a relief to know that 2012 vintage is coming to a successful end, with all grapes picked and fermenting quietly in the wine tanks. The rain can now come!

Semillon harvest: done! It’s going to be transformed into a totally natural wine – “nothing added and nothing taken away” as the author of Naked wine, Alice Feiring, says. Next: the Grenache – still ripening on the vines, for a few more weeks.
