Started picking the Grenache


Blue Wren on grape branchHarvesting Grenache is a slow affair – it needs to be done very carefully, picking grapes by hand, removing any damaged berries. Vine by vine – not all at once, as not all grapevines ripen at the same time. So – it will be several days of continuous grape-picking. Then, it’s de-stemming by hand – as Stan wants some of the Grenache berries to be left whole in the fermentation vat.
